Judge's Obituary

Judge Ronald James Taylor, 79, of Benton Harbor passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements  are entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services. Ronald was born on July 24, 1936 in Detroit, MI to Russell & Alice (Cadieux)  Taylor. On May 28, 1958, Ronald married the love of his life, Nancy Hoffius, in  Kalamazoo. He was a proud member of St. Augustine’s Church and the St. Joseph  Rotary Club. Ronald was an avid fan of motorsports, especially automobile racing.  He was a long time amateur racer as well as a loyal Indy Car racing fan.  He attended 64 consecutive Indianapolis 500 races. Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Nancy; sons, Robert (Debbie) Taylor of FL and David (Mary Jean) Taylor of Benton Harbor; grandchildren, Kaitlin, Russell (Cathy), Perry and Charlie; and great-grandchildren, Noah. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Russell & Alice.
