Cyril's Obituary
Cyril S. Grossé-Bissett, Sr., 90, of Berrien Springs, passed away, Friday, June 24, 2016 surrounded by family at his granddaughter’s home in Stevensville.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 4:00 P.M. Sunday, July 3, 2016 in the Youth Chapel at Pioneer Memorial Seventh-day Adventist Church, Andrew’s University Campus. Private burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Berrien Springs. Memorial donations may be made to Pioneer Memorial Seventh-day Adventist Church. Cyril was born April 3, 1926 in Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada to Percy Bissett & Dorothy (Bundy) Grossé. He earned his Master’s Degree in Psychology from Antioch University in California, and a number of lifetime teaching credentials. On July 4, 1944, he married the former Cynthia Estelle Peterkin in Montreal, Quebec. He spent his life as an educator, teaching from elementary to college, retiring from the Los Angeles Unified School District. Cyril also invested his gifts in the Gospel ministry as an author and witness of God’s incredible action in his life. He traveled the country telling the miraculous story of the encounters he, his late wife and friends had with the spiritual world seeking to educate and encourage young believers. In 2001, he and Cynthia moved to Berrien Springs. Cyril was a member of Pioneer Memorial Seventh-day Adventist Church. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, writing, photography and oil painting.
Cyril is survived by two Grandchildren-Cyril Grossé, III of Chicago, IL, Cher Urbina of Stevensville; three great-Grandchildren-Adrianna, Isabelle & Ava Urbina; his daughter-in-law Olive Grossé of Stevensville; and a sister-in-law Ethel Springer of Norristown, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife Cynthia on December 31, 2014, his son Cyril Grossé, Jr. on May 12, 2010 and a great-grandson Julian Urbina on April 19, 2006.
