Wilma's Obituary

Wilma R. Estes, 80, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph.   Private family services were held at Starks & Menchinger Chapel in St. Joseph, with burial following at Crystal Springs Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Wilma’s name to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan or the charity of the donor’s choice.  Those wishing to sign Wilma’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.    Wilma was born December 24, 1935 in Meadville, Pennsylvania to Alvah & Ruth (Ellis) Stainbrook. She graduated from Sagartown High School in Sagartown, PA in 1953.  Following graduation, she moved to Benton Harbor and joined the House of David.  On June 23, 1962, she married Bobby Estes in Coloma.  Wilma served in many capacities, beginning in the colony restaurant, art shop and preserves factory.  She later began work in the office and served as office manager for many years.  She was a Pillar, Trustee and Treasurer for the House of David.  Wilma was a kind person who will be remembered for her generosity.  In her free time she enjoyed playing the piano, bowling and reading.    Wilma is survived by her husband Bobby; her sister Doris Bradshaw of Erie, PA; her brother Wayne (Jessie) Stainbrook of Meadville, PA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother-in-law Clarence Bradshaw, and by many of her brothers & sisters in the House of David faith.
