Robert “Bob” Rudell, 68, of Berrien Springs, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 at his home. A private family service will be held. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday May 27, 2016 at Starks and Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Berrien County Youth Fair, Berrien County Animal Control Spay & Neuter Fund or the Linda Marutz Endowment, payable to LMC attention Mary Clemm. Those wishing to sign Bob’s guestbook may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com. Bob was born on October 7, 1947 in Niles, MI to Edward and Helen (Welsh) Rudell. He graduated from Berrien Springs High School in 1965. On July 30, 1966 he wed Vicki Jasper in Berrien Springs. Bob worked for National Standard for 25 years before retiring in 1989. He then went on to work for H&R Construction, building homes in the area for 15 years. Bob’s true passion was farming, which was evident with his dedication to many farmers in the community. He was a well-respected farmer and was the area’s “go to guy.” Bob had an award winning career as a sales representative selling corn and soy beans. Bob is survived by his wife of 50 years Vicki Rudell; children Ann (Brian) Bowen of Niles and Lisa (Scott) Howe of Dowagiac; grandchildren Rebecca Howe, Nicholas Smith, Maxwel Howe and Julia Bowen; siblings Judith (Gus) Hinkleman of St. Joseph, JoAnn Parish of Berrien Springs and Andy (Lynn) Rudell of Benton Harbor; father-in-law Otto Jasper of St. Joseph and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob is preceded by his parents; sister Ellen Tropp; and mother-in-law Doris Jasper.
