Anne's Obituary

Anne R. Bavido, 102, of St. Joseph, went to meet her Lord and Savior on April 11, 2016 at The Willows. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 pm on Friday, April 15, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church Street, St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 12:00 pm on Friday, April 15, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, with Liturgical Prayers recited at 12:45 pm.  Private burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens.  Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Those wishing to share a memory or sign Anne’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Anne was born January 24, 1914 in Joliet, Illinois to Francisco & Filomena (Vasile) Traina. On July 3, 1932, she married Lawrence Bavido in Gary, IN.  Anne was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joseph.  She was a wonderful cook and baker and enjoyed crocheting. Anne is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Joseph) Katowich of Mishawaka, IN, Phyllis (George) Erickson of St. Joseph; one son, Sam (Sheila) Bavido of St. Joseph; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Fannie Penzato of Crowne Point, IN; sister-in-law, Anne Traina; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, on February 8, 1989; three sisters; and one brother. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff and caregivers at The Willows for their seven years of love and care and to Grace Hospice for their support the past final weeks.
