Eugene's Obituary
Eugene B Peters born May 28, 1925 taken home to his heavenly home Thursday, April 7, 2016. Gene was a family leader and known as “the Boss”. He was born to Benjamin A (B A) Peters and Frances (Carpp) Peters at the family home on Benton Center Road near Twelve Corners. He is survived by his wife, Marian (Grams) Peters. He was preceded in death by his first wife LaVerne (Marske) Peters mother of Roberta (Paul) Knefelkamp, Benjamin (Diane) Peters, Eugene A (Nancy) Peters and Bert (Kimberly) Peters, also preceded in death by his second wife Marion (Hartman – Marske) Peters mother of Barbara (Kenneth) Berry and Darlene Marske. Marian’s children include Nancy (John) Johnson and Janet Sexton. He has 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Prior to passing, Gene was a dialysis patient for about one year. Recently developing Bile Duct Cancer.
We are asked to remember Gene as a good brother to Betty (Jim) Lull, Donald (Rheta) Peters and Lloyd (Janie) Reece along with their deceased sister Wanda (Robert) Lyons. Gene shared many stories over the years. He worked most of his life with his brother Don along with their father B. A. Peters. They hauled fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables. Buying straight from the farmer and delivering to the larger markets and food processors. They also leased trucks which were used in a variety of industrial settings.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church, 404 E. Glenlord, St. Joseph with Rev. Noah Headrick officiating. Eugene will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday, April 15, 2016 from 5:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles RD., St. Joseph.
