Andrew's Obituary

Andrew Wick, 91, of St. Joseph passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.  Andrew was born December 12, 1924 in Detroit, MI to Theodore & Catherine (Iwanysczyn) Wichorek. Andrew served his country during WWII in the United States Navy. He graduate from Wayne State University with a Bachelors in Sociology then went on to the University of Michigan to receive his master’s in Education. Andrew was united in marriage to Marian Gorsky December 18, 1954 in Detroit, MI. Andrew was a teacher for the Bloomfield Hill School District teaching both English and Drivers Education. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Joseph-Benton Harbor Elks Club. He greatly enjoyed sports particularly bowling and baseball.  Andrew is survived by his wife Marian of St. Joseph, MI; two children Cynthia (David) Nordquist of Stevensville, MI and Claudia (Ronald) Warren of Athens, AL; five grandchildren Eric (Kelsey) Nordquist, Even Nordquist, Adam Nordquist, Bronson Warren and Bridgette Warren. He is preceded in death by his parent Theodore & Catherine and his siblings John Wichorek, Michael Wichorek, Rose Coral, Eva Burney and Mary Tribbs.  A private service will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Lincoln Senior Center or Hospice at Home. Those wishing to share a memory of Andrew online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com
