Rudolph's Obituary

Rudolph “Rudy” Hansch, 90, of St. Joseph, passed away, Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Whitcomb Tower in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held 1:00 P.M.  Monday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Robert Confer officiating.  Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph.  Friends may visit with the family Monday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.  Memorials may be made to The First Church of God.  Those wishing to sign Rudy’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Rudy was born March 19, 1925 in Poland to Adolf & Adeline (Hoffman) Hansch.  He immigrated to the United States, settling in St. Joseph.  On March 24, 1956, he married the former Martha Keller in St. Joseph.  Rudy was employed at Vail Rubber Works, retiring in 1987. He was a member of First Church of God where he served as an usher, sang in the choir, helped with the Homebound Ministry Program and the facilities maintenance. He loved to sing wherever he went.  In his spare time, Rudy enjoyed reading and vegetable gardening. Rudy is survived by his children-Mark (Denyce) Hansch of Iron Mountain, MI, Debbie (Jonathan)Melvin of Denton, MD, Tom Hansch of Chesterton, IN; two grandchildren-Matthew (Adeline) Melvin & Julia (Joshua) Yoda; and numerous nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife Martha on January 25, 2011 and siblings-Melanda Zoellner & Otto Hansch.
