Duff was born February 20, 1948 in Benton Harbor, MI to Roy & Henrietta (Charleston) Duffield. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School where he was part of the 1965 State Championship Basketball Team. In the spring of 1973 he met the love of his life Ann Zandarski at the Navajo Restaurant. On their first date he told Ann “I always get what I want, and you’re what I want”. Nine months later they married on March 22, 1974. Two years later twin daughters were born and Duff was always so proud of them and always supported them. Duff worked at Whirlpool Corporation for 24 years as a member of the Trade Partner Team. He retired in 2008. Duff was passionate about golf and he also enjoyed working in the yard and going to the beach. Duffs biggest enjoyment came from his six grandchildren and they adored him as well. They couldn’t wait for Papa Roy to pull into the driveway to play with them.
Duff is survived by his wife of almost 42 years Ann Duffield; twin daughters Elizabeth (David) Schuster and Veronica (Michael) Valentino; six grandchildren Kaeler, Nicholas, Finn, Jack, Olivia, and Ava; several nieces and nephews; and best friend Ross Bates. Duff was preceded in death by his parents.
Duff had a bigger than life personality with his overwhelming likeability. He was truly a one-of-a-kind man, husband, father, and grandfather. He always considered himself rich in love and blessed to have his family He loved people and loved making them laugh. We will miss him deeply.
