Geloris Elaine Ives

Geloris “Elaine” Ives, 90, of Coloma, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Willows Assisted Living Community in St. Joseph. A private family service will be held. Elaine was born August 13, 1925 in Huron, Minnesota to Emil and Hannah (Hanson) Johnson. She attended Benton Harbor High School and graduated in 1943. Elaine was a factory worker at Hughes Plastic for 36 years before she retired. On October 16, 1946 she married Robert Ives. She enjoyed the great outdoors and often went up north to the cabin with her friends. Elaine enjoyed playing her hand in Solitaire. She had a passion for her family and was often seen pampering and babysitting her grandchildren. Elaine cherished her time spent with family and friends and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Elaine is survived by her brother Darwin Johnson of Benton Harbor; her son Rory (Althea Cates) Ives of Benton Harbor; her daughter Jennifer Cox of Stevensville; 9 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Emil and Hannah Johnson; sons Timothy Ives and Michael Ives; daughters JoAnn Pallas and Robi Larson; brothers Marvin, Clifford, Ron, Donnie, and Bud Johnson; and sister Dolly Murphy.
