Tony's Obituary

Tony Tragna, 85, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Royalton Manor.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday February 25, 2016 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Fr. German Perez-Diaz officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma where Military Rites will be performed by the North Berrien Military Rites Team.  Friends may visit from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Wednesday February 24, 2016 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Coloma American Legion Post #362. Those wishing to leave an online condolence for Tony may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com  Tony was born June 26, 1930 in Riverside, MI to Dominic & Tina (Virgo) Tragna.  He worked for Modern Plastics until his enlistment in 1951.  After serving with the US Army in the Korean War, Tony was discharged in 1959 with the rank of Corporal and returned to his former employer, retiring in 1985. Though he never married, Tony was a devoted family man, caring for his parents for several years and forever doing things for his 8 nieces and nephews.  A proud veteran, Tony’s service to his country was an important part of his life.  Tony is survived by his sister, Mary Tarantino of St. Joseph; nieces and nephews, Regina Ciaravino, Carl (Janet) Ciaravino, Diana (Rick) Birdsall, Dominic (Margrit) Ciaravino, Jay Ciaravino, Mary Ciaravino, Jim (Lisa McShane) Tarantino; and many great-nieces and nephews. Tony was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rose Ciaravino and her husband Jasper; brother, John Tragna and his wife Darlene; brother-in-law, James Tarantino Sr.; and niece, Theresa Tarantino.
