Patrick Barry

Patrick “Pat” Barry, 86, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. Mass will be Celebrated 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 600 Columbus Ave., Benton Harbor with Fr. Michael Rejent officiating.  Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan or Donor’s Choice.  Those wishing to share a memory of Pat online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Pat was born January 5, 1930 in Benton Harbor, MI to William & Helene (Lutter) Barry.  He graduated from St. John’s High School in 1948.  On January 23, 1954 he married Bernice Ott (of Bridgman) in Benton Harbor.  Pat worked for Whirlpool Corporation as a Research Technician for 47 years retiring November 30, 1994.  Pat was an avid Notre Dame Fan and enjoyed being outdoors.  He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and wood working. Pat is survived by his wife Bernice Barry of Benton Harbor; 5 children Diane (Dennis) Beaman of Manistique, MI, Keith Barry of Watervliet, Cheryl (Terry) Hivon of McHenry, IL, Donald (Tammy) Barry of Watervliet and Patrick Barry II of Benton Harbor; 8 grandchildren Brian (Jessica) Beaman, Kevin (Ginger) Beaman, Brooke (Kevin) Middleton, Kristin (Rhett) Deckert, Herman (Tabetha) Barry, Keith (April) Barry Jr., Megan (Chris) Gopp and Dillon Barry; 13 great grandchildren; sister Lou Ann Agens; and many nieces and nephews.  Pat was preceded in death by his parents and brother William Barry Jr.
