Madelyn Jane Flores

Madelyn “Madie” Jane Flores, 14, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Sunday February 7, 2016 at DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. Madie was born March 27, 2001 in Salinas, CA to George & Mary (Harriman) Flores. Her family moved to MI in 2004 where she eventually attended St. Joe Schools. Madie was an 8th grader at Upton Middle School. She was a very compassionate, friendly, strong-willed young lady. She had a quirky sense of humor & unique outlook on life that could light up any room. Madie loved Legos, Star Wars and Marvel superheros. She loved to draw, listen to music, swim & hang out with friends. Her family especially thanks Tom, Claire, Clarissa & Landon for keeping her strong. It was always her dream to become a Lego model designer, marry her best friend & adopt 3 children Madie is survived by her parents George & Mary Flores; her big sister Melanie Flores; Grandmas Carol Harriman & Lily DeLeon; aunts & uncles Gwen (Mark), Jody, Kelly (Jess), K.D. (Chris), Mario, Willie, Richard, Myrna (Mike) & Sissy (John); godfather Brian (Diane) Kelley; many well loved cousins; & her dog Mabel. She was preceded in death by her Grandpas William Harriman & Guillermo Flores, Jr.; & her Uncle Al. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd, St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Spring Run Cemetery. Friends may visit from 5-7 pm Thursday, February 11, 2015 and also Friday, February 12, 2016 from 2-4 pm & 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
