James M. Kliemann, 75, of Mishawaka formerly of Coloma, passed away Friday, December 25, 2015 at Golden Living Center-Fountainview in Mishawaka, Indiana.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma, with Military Rites conducted by the North Berrien Military Rites Team. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinsons Disease Foundation or Asera Care Hospice of Elkhart. Jim was born July 29, 1940 in Port Huron, Michigan to Isadore & Marjorie (Sears) Kliemann. He served his country in the US Army from 1959 until 1965. He spent most of his adult life in Southwest Michigan. Jim spent most of his adult career in plastic engineering before becoming a real estate agent with Century 21 in Coloma, ultimately opening his own agency-Kliemann Real Estate in Coloma. On September 29, 1980, he married the former Patricia “Patti” Daley in Coloma. Jim was a member of the Coloma American Legion Post #362, and was active in scouting as a scout leader. He enjoyed working in the field of politics and was a very active member of the Michigan Coalition of Responsible Gun Owners, believing firmly in the Second Amendment. He was an avid sportsman & outdoorsman-enjoying fishing, hunting boating, canoeing or anything outdoors, and also enjoyed playing Euchre and spending time with his family. Jim spent several years suffering from Parkinsons Disease which finally got the best of him. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
Jim is survived by his wife Patti; his children-James (Stacey) Kliemann of Berrien Springs, Michael (Mina) Kliemann of Alabama, John (Danielle) Kliemann of California; stepchildren-James (Pamela) Ryan of Mishawaka, Dawn (Thomas) Ginter of Minnesota; nine grandsons-Eric (Ashley) Ryan, Gary (Amanda) Ryan, Kyle (Marisia) Brownfield, Kevin (Krissy) Brownfield, Trevor (Mandy) Ryan, Josh Kliemann, Noah Kliemann, John (Christine) Kliemann & William Ginter; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings-Richard (Katie) Kliemann of Washington State and Joan Kliemann of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson James Ryan, Jr.
