Kenneth Peters

Kenneth D. “Pete” Peters, 80, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Lakeland Medical Center- St. Joseph. A private celebration of life service will be held. Kenneth will be laid to rest at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan. Those wishing to sign Pete’s guestbook may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com. Pete was born January 3, 1935 in Watervliet, MI to Delloyd & Lena (Kietzer) Peters. He worked as a laborer for Pearson Construction for many years before retiring at the age of 62. Pete enjoyed farming and gardening, doing crossword puzzles, fishing and watching basketball and baseball. He was a member of the local Labor Union 355. He is survived by his daughters Deborah “Debbie” (Dan) VanderLanan of Grand Rapids, Karen Bishop of Watervliet and Christine “Chris” Peters of Stevensville; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and sister Maxine Kreiger of St. Joseph. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael Peters in 1999 and sister Florine Quade in 2010.
