David's Obituary

David “Krockett” Krieger, Jr., 53, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Friday, December 11, 2015 in Benton Harbor.    A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 16 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph.  Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations in David’s name may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan or the Wounded Warrior Project.  Those wishing to sign David’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.  David was born November 28, 1962 in Benton Harbor to David Sr. & Norma (Setlak) Krieger.  He graduated from St. Joseph High School, Class of 1981.  On September 27, 2008, he married his soul mate, the former Ashlie Gleffe in St. Joseph.  Dave was currently employed as the warehouse manager at Michiana Supply in Benton Township, and was the Karaoke DJ at the Sandbar on Saturday evenings.  He had formerly been in lumber sales and had operated Krockett Construction for many years.  Dave was an avid Notre Dame fan, a member of the NRA, and very patriotic.  He had implemented Red Shirt Friday at work in tribute to all of our veterans.  Dave was very interested in animal rights.  He enjoyed the outdoors & nature, camping, fishing on and being on the St. Joseph River, and spending time with his family and many friends.  He was a devoted husband to his wife Ashlie.  David is survived by his wife Ashlie; his son David (Danielle) Bohannon of Richmond, TX; two grandchildren-Remington & Rowan Bohannon; his parents David Sr. & Norma Krieger of St. Joseph; his sister Kathy (Dan) Bublick of Carmel, IN; his brother Stephen (Rachel) Krieger of Coloma; father-in-law & mother-in-law Dean & Cindy “Cindymom” Gleffe of St. Joseph; sister-in-law Jessica (Riley) Pratt of Irvine, CA; nieces & nephews-Eva & Alex Bublick, Maia & Leo Pratt; his labrador fur babies-Trout & Sophie; and his fur baby nieces & nephews-Eros, Addison & Chimmy.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents-Ed & Florence Krieger and Walter & Mary Setlak.  May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon you face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in His hands.
