Delbert Dale Rasmussen

Delbert “Del” D. Rasmussen, 80, of Watervliet, MI passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Pine Ridge Nursing Home. A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Del was born February 19, 1935 in Fresno, CA to Morris & Dorothy (McHargue) Rasmussen. He was a graduate of Washington Union High School in Fresno, CA. On November 24, 1956 he wed Nancy Tipton in Fresno, CA. He worked for the Department of Agriculture for 17 years first in Washington D.C. and later in Michigan as the Manager of Cherry and Cranberry Orders. Most recently he was a school bus driver for the Watervliet School District.  Del was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and camping with his dog. He loved spending time with his family, grandkids and great-grandkids. He will be remembered for his gentle kindness and concern for others, but most of all for his love to his heavenly Father. Del is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Nancy; daughter Debbie (Doug) Felt of Benton Harbor; grandchildren Joshua (Jacque) Felt of Boise, ID, Andrea (Matt) Sears of Petoskey, MI; great grandchildren Ethan & Caleb Sears and Levi Felt and 1 brother Glenn Rasmussen. Del was preceded in death by his parents, son Randy Rasmussen in 2009 and a brother and sister.
