Kathleen V. Anstey

Kathleen Veronica Anstey, 83, of Stevensville, passed away, Thursday, November 26, 2015 at home.   Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:45 A.M. Friday, December 4, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph, with Fr. James Morris officiating.  Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery, Stevensville.  Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday with the Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph.  Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home.  Those wishing to sign Kathleen’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.    Kathleen was born January 14, 1932 in St. Joseph to Aloysius & Dorothy (Kern) Hosbein.  She graduated Valedictorian from St. Joseph Catholic High School Class of 1950.  On July 3, 1954, Kathleen married her high school sweetheart Thomas J. Anstey at St. Joseph Catholic Church where they were both members.  Having met at the age of 11, they had been in each other’s lives for 72 years and married for 61 of those years.  In her free time she enjoyed tending to her yard and wild flower gardens, boating on Lake Michigan, walking the beach and or swimming in the lake.  She loved her home town and the beautiful surrounding areas. She especially loved spending time with her family and she always had time to send with children.    Kathleen is survived by her husband Tom; her children-Michael (Bonnie) Anstey of Benton Harbor, David Anstey of St. Joseph, Thomas (Judy) Anstey of Buchanan, Mark Anstey of Buchanan, Kathleen (Justin) Kochs of St. Joseph, Robert (Christine) Anstey of Berrien Springs; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her brother Clete (Mary) Hosbein of Indianapolis, IN; and numerous nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her son Steven Thomas Anstey on July 25, 2014, one brother Al Hosbein & two sisters-Dorothy Joan (Hosbein) Deaner and Maretta Hosbein.
