Theodor's Obituary

Theodor “Ted” Antonowitsch, 85, of Berrien Springs, MI passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Briar Cliff Health and Rehabilitation in South Bend, IN.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 14, 2015 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Chris Noffke officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Those wishing to share a memory of Theodor online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com  Theodor was born January 1, 1930 in Tuczyn, Wolhynien to Emanuel & Olga (Stenzel) Antonowitsch. On July 21, 1951 he married Gertraud Wegner in Germany. Following their wedding they immigrated to the United States. Theodor was the owner of Quality Builders, Inc. in Berrien Springs and also owned and operated Scott Lake East Camp Ground in Bloomingdale, MI. He was a founding member of the St. Joe Kickers Sport Club and enjoyed spending time with his friends.  Theodor is survived by his wife Gertraud Antonowitsch; children Herbert Antonowitsch, Christiana (W.G.) Smith, Paul (Krista) Antonowitsch and Angelika (Charles) Colpitts; grandchildren Erik (Brandy) Antonowitsch, David (Cara) Antonowitsch, Ryan Colpitts and Kurt Antonowitsch; great grandchildren Ava and Isla Antonowitsch; brother Paul (Helga) Antonowitsch; sisters Ruth Henschel and Frieda (Helmut) Dobrat. Theodor was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Adolf and Erik and sister Ina.
