Michael E. Cunningham

Michael E. “MC” Cunningham, 56, of St. Joseph passed away on October 28, 2015 at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 2, 2015 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Marlo Fritzke officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Benton Harbor Rotary Foundation and Humane Society of Southwest Michigan. He graduated from St. Joseph High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Valparaiso University. Mike owned Cunningham Benefits in St. Joseph for many years. He was an active member and past president of St. Joseph Benton Harbor Rotary Club, as well as a member of the St. Joseph Yacht Club and First Congregational Church of St. Joseph. Mike loved the state of Maine, which began in his childhood. In his spare time he loved sailing and boating on Lake Michigan, and road trips. Mike is survived by his sisters, Julie Knight of St. Joseph and Clare (Michael) Minich of Minneapolis, MN; nieces and nephews, Amber Knight, Dave (Tessa) Johnson and their daughter Hadleigh, Abigail (Collins) Fobanjong and their daughter Amalie, Peter (Gretchen) Johnson and Hannah Johnson; and special friend, Nancy Revas. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Steve.
