Maurine Cox Rohm

Maurine (Cox) Rohm, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away at the age of 88 on Saturday, October 31, 2015. Maurine was born in Grand Traverse City, MI. on April 28, 1927 to Thomas B. and Carrie (Metz) Cox.   Maurine married the love of her life, Harlan (Ron) Rohm, on June 29, 1946, in Kalamazoo, Michigan at St. Augustine Catholic Church. They moved to St. Joseph, MI. where they opened their family business – Ron’s Market. Maurine has enjoyed a full life surrounded by family and friends. She loved to swim, golf, bowl, sew and do ceramics.  Maurine was an active member of St John & Bernard’s Parish in Benton Harbor. She loved the Lord and made it a priority to live her life by His example.  Maurine is survived by her children; Darleen (Dennis) Buller, Pastor Christine (Dr. William) Holden, Pastor Linda (Nick) Cool, Shannon (Gary) VonStomm, Helen (Joey) Angelo, Bonnie Pool, Dan (Stacy) Rohm, William “Bill “ Rohm, and Mark (Judy) Rohm, twin sister Marian Rogers; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grand children.  Maurine was preceded in death by her husband Harlan (Ron) Rohm, daughter Terry Elizabeth Rohm; and grandson, Bud Timothy Rohm.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at St.  Bernard’s Catholic Church, 555 E. Delaware Ave., Benton Harbor, MI. 49022. Maurine’s Memorial Mass will begin at noon.  A light lunch will follow.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hanson House courtesy of Hospice at Home 4025 Health Park Lane St. Joseph, MI. 49085.
