Robert Andrew Neel

Robert “Andy” Neel, 68 of St. Joseph passed away at Lakeland Regional Hospital in St. Joseph on November 5, 2015. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road in St. Joseph; officiated by Rev.  Dr. Christopher Noffke; with military rites conducted by North Berrien County Honor Guard.   Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00- 7:00 at the funeral Home.  Memorial may be made to Southwest Michigan Humane Society, 641 S. Crystal Ave, Benton Harbor.   Friends wishing to leave a condolence may do so at the guest book at www.starks-menchinger.com Robert was born on October 8, 1947 to Robert A. & Ruth (Martin) Neel Sr. in Benton Harbor Michigan. He lived his life in Coloma and St. Joseph.  Andy graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1966 then attended Lake Michigan College and graduated from Bethel College in 2000.  Andy was happily married to his high School Sweetheart Nancy Hill in 1967 at St. Peter U.C.C. in St. Joseph where they attended for their whole life. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. During his life he worked at Bendix- Robert Bosch as a quality Assurance engineer until he retired. He loved to hunting, fishing, boating, camping and he was a member of the Michigan chapter of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans He is survived by his wife of 48 years Nancy; a daughter Andrea (Chris) Corteville; three grandsons Brady Corteville, Kyle Corteville and Patrick (Sarah) Corteville; two sisters Janice Hurtman and Rebecca Van Woerkom and a little brother Clifford Asch; mother-in-law Florence Hill; two sister-in-laws Judy Dunlap and Susan(David) Seaman; many nieces & nephews and his favorite Granddog Remmington Winston. He was preceded in death by parents Robert & Ruth; a sister Charlene Frederich; father-in-law William Hill
