Thomas Richard Love

Thomas R. Love, 85, of Stevensville, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Pine Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Stevensville. Arrangements are entrusted to Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI  49085. Private burial will take place at a later date at Fort Custer National Cemetery along with his late wife, Shirley Ann (Place) Love. Thomas was born December 19, 1929 in Benton Harbor, MI to Ernest and Florence (Mussell) Love. On September 12, 1950 he joined the Navy, proudly serving his country during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on July 6, 1954. Thomas worked as a printer for the Herald Palladium for over 34 years before  retiring. In his free time he enjoyed golfing and fishing with his co-workers and special friends, Jerry Schmidtke and Bob Samuelson, whom he knew since childhood.      Thomas is survived by his two sisters; Frances (Herbert) Kebshull of Key West, FL and Virginia Patrick of Coopersville, MI.  He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
