Rudi A. Nemethy

Rudi A. Nemethy, 55, of Berrien Springs passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015. A Celebration of Rudi’s life will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Coloma Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Rudi was born on October 20, 1959 in Augusta, GA to Joseph and Herta (Wildemann) Nemethy. He earned an Associate’s Degree from Ivy Tech College. Rudi was a skilled electrician and was employed with IBEW and later at Koontz-Wagner Holdings. He spent 15 years together with Pamela Stephenson and was a great father figure to her two children, Meghan Stephenson and Nick (Regina) Stephenson. Rudi was a great mechanic with a wide variety of knowledge. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. Rudi was known as a collector extraordinaire finding many treasures on his garage sale hunts. Rudi is survived by his mother, Herta of Coloma; son and best friend, Alex (Tristan) Nemethy of Florida; Pamela of Berrien Springs, and her children; brother, Gerrt (Art) Nemethy of St. Joseph; sister, Diethilde (John) Nemethy-Frye of Mocksville, NC; and nephews, John Joseph Frye and Stephen Frye. Rudi was preceded in death by his father, Joseph, and nephew, Johnathan Frye.
