Irene Joyce Fellner

Irene “Snookie” Fellner, 82, of St. Joseph passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 12 PM at Starks and Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Randy Doyle officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may visit from 11 AM until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Berrien County Cancer Services or Hospice at Home. On July 22, 1950 Irene married the love of her life, Robert Fellner. Irene worked, and later retired, as a line worker for Whirlpool. Irene was a devoted member of St. Peters Church in St. Joseph. Her favorite hobby was to go garage sale shopping. Most importantly, Irene loved her grandkids. She always made it a priority to attend all of their sporting events and other activities. Irene is survived by her children, Janet Mattox of St. Joseph, Vickie Fellner of Sodus, Annette Fellner of Three Oaks, Doreen (Manfred) Hammermeister of Stevensville, and Robert (Miki) Fellner of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Andrea (Sean) Truhn, Beth Klank, Michael Fellner, Sara Jost, Rachael Fellner, Melissa Eurch, Matthew and Emily Mattox, Shelby and Taylor Hammermeister, and AJ Feller; and 10 great-grandchildren. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; siblings, Esther Glossinger and Ernest Kelly.
