Eleanor Marie Basham

Eleanor Marie Basham, 92, of Benton Harbor went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at her home. A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 619 Main Street, St. Joseph with Pastor Michael Roth officiating. Burial will follow at Shanghai Cemetery in Eau Claire. Friends may visit from 4 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, October 06, 2015 at Starks and Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Hospice at Home. On November 8, 1941 she married James R. Basham in Mishawaka, IN. In her spare time Eleanor enjoyed gardening, crafts, baking, reading, and most of all, spending time with her family. Eleanor is survived by her sons, Jerry (Jeanne), Jim (Karen), John (Debra), Jack (Cindy) and Greg; nine grandchildren, Lisa (Terry) Bochenek, Kurt (Heather) Basham, Krista (Brian) Meyer, Stacey (Doug) Dodge, Jeffery (Shelby) Basham, Dianna Clapp, Carrie (Mark) Kadinger, Kristen (Ed) Freeman, Kenneth (Meghan) Martin; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Dorothy (Ted) Perky and Donna Valzonis; and many nieces and nephews. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; brothers, Harold, William, Norman, and Charles; sister, Arvada Burks; and grandson, Scott (Amy) Basham.
