Vincent Craig Chacon, 63, peacefully left this earth on August 26, 2015 at his home in Benton Harbor, MI.  His life was a thrill ride you didn’t want to get off once you got on. His joy was contagious. We will always remember his stories. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 4 PM at Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family from 2 PM until 4 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chacon Family, in care of Gayle Chacon. Vince was born August 10th, 1952 in St. Joseph to Frank and Bettie (Delano) Chacon, he was one of three children.  A Navy veteran, at the age of 24 he proudly owned the East Town Saloon/Bogie’s in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He made many great memories and friends there. After 13 years he decided to pursue a medical career and earned a degree from Lake Michigan College as an LPN. On March 28, 1992 Vince married Gayle Quardokus at St. John’s Church in Benton Harbor. Vince was definitely a people person, if you knew him; you surely shared many laughs with him. He will be missed by many and his memories are now etched in our hearts. Vince is survived by wife, Gayle of Benton Harbor; sons, Airman Michael Chacon stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Jonathan Lurkins of Benton Harbor; granddaughter, Olivia Grace; brother, Jeffrey Chacon; and many close family members.
