Everett “Bob” Hampton, 91, of Stevensville passed away on September 11, 2015 at his residence.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 10 AM at The First Assembly of God – Blue Roof Church, 3084 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Dan Miller officiating. Friends may visit on Monday, September 14, 2015 from 4 PM until 6 PM at Starks and Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Everett was born on January 31, 1924 in Troy, TN to James and Bessie (Bridges) Hampton. Everett learned responsibility early on in life. By early childhood, Everett was one of the primary caretakers for their family farm. On December 13, 1952, Everett married the love of his life, Bernetta “Bernie” Atwood, in St. Joseph. Everett always had a passion for building and working with his hands, for over 40 years he owned and operated E.A. Bob Hampton Home Builders. After retiring from being a residential builder, he helped out at Lakeshore Distributing until he was 80. Some of Everett’s interests included driving semi-trucks, farming, building homes and showing horses.
Everett is survived by his children, David (Valarie) Hampton, Mark (Debbie) Hampton, and Mary Kay (Brian) Kurtz; grandchildren, Shiloe (Jeremy) Wines, Shane (Piper) Current, Mark Hampton, Jr., Matthew (Rebecca) Hampton, Alyssa (Sean) Hampton; great-grandchildren, Austin, Logan, Mark III, JJ, Eiley, and Everett; 4 step grandchildren; sister, Quay Marie (Kerm) Estocin, and a very dear friend, Susan Albers.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bessie; wife, Bernie; siblings, Connie, William “Bill”, and Ray Hampton, and Dorothy McCoy.
