Stacy S. Pletz, 52, of Buchanan, MI passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 at her home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Crystal Springs Church of God 1465 Pipestone Rd. Benton Harbor with Rev. Fred Davey officiating. A gathering of friends and a time of sharing will take place following the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice. Stacy was born June 24, 1963 in Benton Harbor, MI to Easchol & Monnie (Weaver) Mullis. She worked as a factory worker in the Die Cast Profession for many years, but she kept a busy schedule caring for her home and her family. On May 10, 2007 she wed James “Jim” Pletz. Stacy was a member of Crystal Springs Church of God. She enjoyed camping, skeet shooting, fishing with her dad and picking on her father in law Bob. Most of all Stacy loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. In 2012 Stacy created the Facebook group Colon Cancer Survivors and Warriors. This group provided support and words of encouragement to others struggling with colon cancer.
Stacy is survived by her husband Jim Pletz, children Ashly (Nate Poe) Shelton of Niles, Chelsea Boswell of Berrien Springs, Robby Pletz of Buchanan; step daughters Jamie (Jake) Boone of Stevensville, Renee (Trevor) Talmadge of South Carolina and Rebecca Pletz of Dowagiac; grandchildren Wesly Smith, Rocky and Ryker Boswell, Landon Foster, Mahkala Newby, Katlyn and Kourtny Talmadge sister Kathy (Toney) Jordan of Watervliet; brother Donald (Pamela) Billings of Edwardsburg; mother Monnie Mullis of Berrien Springs; sister-in-law Patti Beckman (Joe Sanchez) of Stevensville; mother-in-law and father-in-law Bob (Sadye) Pletz of St. Joseph; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.
