Warren's Obituary

Warren “Roy” Rediess, 81, of Benton Harbor passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on a later date. The Rediess family has chosen to donate Roy to the University of Michigan Anatomical Donation Program.  Memorials contributions may be made to Hospice at Home or Area Agency on Aging. Those wishing to share a memory of Roy online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Roy was born August 31, 1933 in Fort Morgan, CO to John and Lorna (George) Rediess. He graduated from South Haven High School in 1951. On July 3, 1958 Roy married the love of his life, Elvria Lio, in South Haven, MI. For over 40 years Roy was a valued employee at Stone’s Meat Packing Company. Roy was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a proud member of South Haven’s Rod & Gun Club. He was also a member of Greenwood Bible Church. Roy is survived by his children, Linda (Stephen) Corwin of Norton Shores, MI, Luanne (Vern) York of Holland, Timothy Rediess of South Haven, Tommie Jean Rediess of Kalamazoo, Elizabeth Lundy of Benton Harbor, Paula Hernandez of Bedford, TX; sister, Verdis (Bruce) Burrows, and Lorita Emmerick; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a special thank you to Roy’s caretaker for many years, Doris Putten. Roy was preceded by his parents; wife, Elvira; siblings, Bernard, David, Walter and Nellie Rediess, and Margaret Post; and son-in-law, Fernan Hernandez.
