Ervin “Sam” Pedde, 83, of St. Joseph, MI passed away, Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 619 Market St., St. Joseph with Pastor Michael Roth officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma; Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Sam was born February 14, 1932 in Benton Harbor, MI to Edmund & Alvina (Luttke) Pedde. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1950. Sam served his country in the United States Army. On September 8, 1951 he married Betty Ross. Sam worked for Popcorn Johns, Benton Harbor Mallable, the Benton Harbor Fruit Market, Little Super and Roosters Party Store. He loved to socialize with his friends at the Whitcomb, ushering at his beloved church, and enjoying Dino and Connie’s special breakfasts with his BFF’s – Rich Hackbarth, Brent Parsons, and Larry, Muriel, and Scott Holben. Sam was also an avid Cubs, Yankees and University of Michigan Fan. He especially loved spending time with his daughters and the apple of his eye, granddaughter Jazmyne.
Sam is survived by his daughters Linda, Nancy, Lisa, Amy, and Sue; granddaughter Jazmyne; sister Annabelle Tinberg and a plethora of adoring nieces and nephews. Sam was preceded in death by his wife Betty, his parents, and brothers Bill, Ave, Eddie, Norm, Harold and Babe.
