John's Obituary

John A. Jeske, 67, of St. Joseph, passed away, Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Lakeland Medical Center. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Ron Schmitt officiating.  Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph.  Friends may visit from 4:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. Monday, August 31 at the funeral home. John was born on March 14, 1948 in Benton Harbor, MI and was raised by Julius and Anna Jeske. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1966. John served his country in the United States Air Force from 1966 until 1970. On June 26, 1971, he married the love of his life, Jeannette Grewe, at St. Matthew’s Church in Benton Harbor, MI. John worked at Cedarwood Medical Center as a mechanical engineer for many years. He was a member of the VFW and Peace Lutheran Church. In his spare time, John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, as well as keeping busy with his computer and woodworking. John is survived by his wife, Jeannette Jeske; son, Brian (Kelly) Jeske of St. Joseph; two grandchildren, Alex and Ella Jeske; and many cousins, family members, and friends. John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Julius and Anna Jeske, and his longtime best friend, Barry Crowder.
