Warren W. Deuel, 87, of Berrien Springs, MI passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 24, 2015 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Wade Panse officiating. Burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice. Warren was born October 17, 1927 in Dowagiac, MI to Earnest & Lura Marguirete (Crippin) Deuel. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School. Warren proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. On January 25, 1947 he wed his high school sweetheart May Smith in St. Joseph. Warren was a self employed Tailor for over 30 years in St. Joseph. He was a member of the Yacht Club and enjoyed boating for many years with his wife. Warren was the past exulted ruler 3 times for the Benton Harbor St. Joseph Elks club, involved in the Stephens Ministry, participated in the Stevensville American Legion Military Rites Team and was a member of the Berrien Springs American Legion. He was a wonderful and talented artist doing oil paintings and sketches. Warren’s family would like to give a special thanks to his care giver Deanna Boelcke and to Hospice.
Warren is survived by his daughters Susan (Jack) Franklin of Stevensville, Sarah (Michael) Shembarger of Berrien Springs, and Sharon (Larry) Gordon of Portage, MI; grandchildren, Darcy (Matt Fulton) Osborn, Emily Hankins, Caleb (Dianna) Gordon, and RachaelFaith Gordon, Matt (Heather)Shembarger, Scott (Candice) Shembarger; great-grandchildren, Madeline, Karlyn, Graham, Marlie, Maya, Kamdyn, Kennedy and Maddex, and one on the way; one great-great grandchild on the way and numerous nieces and nephews. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife May on May 10, 2015, his grandson Douglas Tod Osborn and brothers Clarence Deuel and Richard Deuel.
