Marian A. Hotaling Liggett, 104, of St. Joseph went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Pine Ridge in Stevensville. A Graveside Service will be held 3:30 P.M. Tuesday at Crystal Springs Cemetery, 1655 E Napier Ave, Benton Harbor, with Pastor Marlo Fritzke officiating.  Arrangements entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of St. Joseph or Hospice at Home. Those wishing to leave an online condolence for Marian may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Marian was born on August 26, 1910 in Kipton, Ohio to Jon and Sara (Pelton) Hotaling. Marian married the love of her life, Chester A. Liggett, on November 29, 1929 in Muskegon. Chester preceded her in death in February of 1999 after 69 years of marriage. She was employed with Enterprise Cleaners in Benton Harbor for 40 Years. Marian appreciated all of the visits and cards from friends and relatives over the years.  She cared about all of them and offered encouragement, laughter, and insight to all.  In the summer she enjoyed the concerts at the band shell in St. Joseph and celebrated her 101st birthday there.  She was an extraordinary lady and was proud of the fact that she lived independently well into her 100s.  She enjoyed life to the fullest and was grateful for each and every person in it.  Marian is survived by nephews, Sam Letinich and Frank Liggett, and many special friends including Martha Wilder, Janet Snelgrove, Donette Bammann, and Gerald Dean. In addition to her husband, Chester, Marian was preceded in death, by her parents; and eight siblings.
