Gail A. Ostrander, of Baroda, Michigan died at Lakeland Hospital St. Joseph on May 24, 2015 after a lengthy battle with cancer. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday May 30 at 10am at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. The family will receive friends on Friday May 29 from 5-7pm at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Gail was born on August 19, 1943 in Benton Harbor, Michigan. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School and Western Michigan University. She taught briefly for Lakeshore Public Schools then continued her career in the local manufacturing industry. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph where she enjoyed attending bible class. She enjoyed reading, trying new recipes, gardening and visiting with family and friends.
She is survived by her brother David (Deb) Ostrander, nephew Michael Ostrander and niece Kristy Huebner. Also her extended family and classmates from Benton Harbor High School as well as many close friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Anna Belle Ostrander.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and staff of the Marie Yeager Cancer Center and Lakeland Health for their compassionate care during her illness.
