Kathryn Elizabeth “Kay”  (Spink) Pliley, 72, of St. Joseph, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. Celebration of Life Eternal Services will be held 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, June 30 at Peace Lutheran Church 3590 Lincoln Ave., St. Joseph with Rev. Ron Schmidt & Rev. Wade Turner officiating.  Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. Tuesday at the Church.  Memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church.  Private burial will take place at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Kay was born December 3, 1942 in Spinks Corners, Michigan to Monroe & Miriam (Bessinger) Spink.  On March 27, 1989, she married Jerry Pliley and blended their families into one.  Kay loved nothing more than to be surrounded by as many children as possible.  Learning to bake with Grandma is a memory her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will cherish. Kay never met a stranger and selflessly served others.  Many people will remember her smiling face from Fred’s Meat Market in Coloma where she worked from 1976-1989, or from Southwestern Medical Clinic where she worked from 1989-2001.  Kay & Jerry were charter members of peace Lutheran Church and served there side by side since 1995.  Jerry & Kay camped, traveled and enjoyed time with family and friends.  Kay lived each day in celebration of God and his abundant blessings. Kay is survived by her husband Jerry; brother Richard Spink of Zellwood, FL; sons-Richard (Carol) Brooks of Lakeland, FL, Bradley (Maureen) Pliley of Bridgman, MI, Derek (Brenda) Brooks of Plainwell, MI; daughters-Mary (Samuel) Forbes of Clarkton, MO, Kimberley (George) Smith of Bridgman, Christine (Mike) Miller of Clarkton, MO and Karolyn (Richard) Holcomb of Murfeesboro, TN; 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.  Kay was preceeded in death by her parents Monroe & Miriam Spink, her brother William Spink, her son Brian Pliley, her daughter Brenda Pliley-Shaver and grandchildren Ronnie Shaver, Jr. & Jessica Smith.
