James's Obituary

James “Jim” E. Brown, 85 of Saint Joseph passed away Sunday, May 31 at home with his family and pastor at his side. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday June 6, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church, 475 Green Street, Benton Harbor with Rev. Laurie Hartzell officiating. Friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church Renovation Fund. Those wishing to share a memory of James online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. James was born May 13th, 1930 in Benton Township, Michigan to Fred and Olga (Rotz) Brown. On June, 29, 1963 he married the love of his life Mabel James at First Presbyterian Church where they had been members for more than 52 years. He was in the army from 1951 to 1953. James retired from Gast Manufacturing 20 years ago. He enjoyed deer hunting as well as goose hunting. James loved keeping his house in tip top shape. He was a member of the Bridgman and Stevensville American Legion.  James is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, two sisters and his beautiful wife of 51 years.
