Daniel “Dan” J. Frietas, 74, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Monday, May 04, 2015 at Hanson Hospice in Stevensville.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, May 8, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 404 E. Glenlord Rd. St. Joseph, with Pastor Noah Headrick officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. Burial to follow at North Shore Memory Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the National Kidney Foundation. Dan was born August 24, 1940 in Chicago, IL to Joseph & Henrietta Harriet (née Frank) Frietas.  He graduated from Watervliet High School in 1958.  Dan wed Deanna Vester in St. Joseph, MI on May 23, 1992.  He worked in Sales, most recently at Sears in the auto department. He enjoyed gardening and collecting things. His collections included baseball caps, coffee mugs, Pez dispensers and key rings. Dan loved his family especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years Deanna, children D.J. (Quaye) Frietas of Decatur, GA, Kimberlee (Joseph) Ruzic (née Frietas) of Valrico, FL and Lisa (Russell) Cross (née Frietas) of West Bend, WI; step-children John (Deanna) Rydleski of Stevensville and James (June) Rydleski of St. Joseph; 11 grandchildren; sister Beverley Louise Cole of St. Joseph; brother Dennis (Cindy) Frietas of Fort Wayne, IN and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Fritz Frank and Raymond Frank.
