Pamela S. Brazda, 66, of Eau Claire, MI passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 at her home after a 7 year battle with cancer.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Brian Lutz officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sodus. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Elephant Sanctuary. Pam was born September 28, 1948 in Benton Harbor, MI to Rex & Martha (Pohl) Shindeldecker. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1966. On July 15, 1967 she married David Brazda in St. Joseph, MI. Pam worked for the United Sates Post Office for over 25 years, starting as a rural substitute carrier, then as a clerk at Coloma and then Watervliet. She was a Postmaster at several offices, including Lakeside and Riverside. The highlight of her career was Postmaster of Beaver Island from 1993 until 1997. She loved the Beaver Island lifestyle, and especially the many friends she made on the island.
Pam was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, and friend who loved spending time with her family. Her love of all people and her love for animals, especially for those in need, was exceptional. However, her love for family, especially her daughter and grandsons, was her highest priority.
Pam is survived by her husband Dave Brazda; daughter Kristine (Preston) Hensley; mother Martha Shindeldecker; grandchildren Josh, Eric, and Brandon Peek; great grandchild Osiris Peek; and brother Kip (Connie) Shindeldecker.
Pam was preceded in death by her father and son David Brazda Jr.
