Dorothy's Obituary

Dorothy A. Dodge, 84, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Friday, April 17, 2015 at Royalton Manor in St. Joseph. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 9:00 A.M. Sunday, May 10, 2015 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 600 Columbus Ave., Benton Harbor, as part of the regular Sunday Mass.  Memorial donations may be made to Hospice at Home.  Those wishing to sign Dorothy’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Dorothy was born September 21, 1930 in Benton Harbor to Harden & Lillian (Hayden) DeWitt.  She graduated from St. John’s High School in Benton Harbor in 1948.  Dorothy retired from Shepherd Casters in St. Joseph.  She devoted her life to raising her six children.  Dorothy was a member of St. John/St. Bernard Parish and enjoyed reading, oil painting, and tending to her flower & vegetable gardens. Dorothy is survived by her children-Teri (Ron) Cervantes of Ventura County, CA, Irving (Joyce) Turner of Russellville, AR, Mary “Deb” (Dan) Gatchell of St. Joseph, Pamela Steel, Michael Turner of Costa Mesa, CA, Steve (Laurie) Turner of Benton Harbor; seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; her sister Mary (Bob) Bayman of Watervliet;  and several nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bill DeWitt, and a grandson.
