Herbert W. Demske

Herbert W. Demske, 95, of Benton Harbor passed away at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph on Friday, April 3, 2015. Arrangements have been entrusted with Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home in St. Joseph.   Herbert was born on July 11, 1919 in St. Joseph to Gustav and Olga Demske. On October 29, 1949 in St. Joseph he married Esther Ritter; Esther preceded Herbert in death on September 27, 1994. Herbert was an electrician having worked for Peer Inc. for app. 40 years, retiring in 1993. He is survived by his daughter – Carol (Mark) Thompson of Ann Arbor, MI; and a grandson – Austin. Herbert is preceded in death by his parents-Gustav and Olga; his wife-Esther; and two brothers and three sisters.   A Celebration of Life service will be held on Weds., April 8, 11:30am at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI, with Rev. Robert Confer officiating. Burial will follow services at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma, MI. A time of visitation with the family will be on Tues., from 5:00-7:00pm at the funeral home.
