Jacqueline M. Powers

Jacqueline “Jacki” M. Powers, 84, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Sunday, April 19, 2015 at her home. There will be no public service held. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Those wishing to sign Jacki’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.  Jacki was born October 16, 1932 in St. Joseph to Lewis “Red” J. & Sadie “Susan” (Rickert) Mohn. After graduating from St. Joseph High School, she married the love of her life Leroy, at the Trinity Lutheran Church on May 5, 1956.  Jacki worked for several years at Rimes Department Store and later co-owned The Pump House with her husband. She has enjoyed spending time at the beach her entire life. Jacki was very involved with her church, whether it was baking for funeral dinners or making prayer shawls and quilts for families. Jacki loved her family and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Jacki is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Leroy, a son Jim (Nicole Moon) of Benton Harbor, two daughters: Susan Powers of Morristown, TN and Linda (Bob) White of Middlebury IN; more than ten grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren and one brother Jim (Peg) Mohn. She was preceded in death by her parents.
