Dorothy A. Haiker

Dorothy A. Haiker, 78, formerly of Gaylord, Michigan, passed away, Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 A.M. Thursday, April 9, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph, with Fr. Thomas McNally officiating.  Cremation will follow the services with burial at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lake Leelanau, Michigan.  Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Dorothy was born June 25, 1936 in Hawthorne, California to William & Helen (Alpers) Gauthier.  She graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School in 1954.  On August 29, 1964 she married Robert G. Haiker at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Muskegon.  Dorothy devoted her life to caring for her husband, children & grandchildren.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gaylord where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and served dinners to the homeless.  She was also a member of the Gaylord Lions Club with her husband and the Daughters of Isabella. Dorothy is survived by her children-Gregory (Janice) Haiker of Stevensville, Kim (Paul) Erickson of Racine, WI, and Brian (Karen) Haiker of Gaylord; four grandchildren-Claire Haiker, Brianna Haiker, Kyle & Nicholas Erickson; brother Gary (Marilynne) Gauthier of Saginaw, MI; two sisters-Pat (Duane) Ostenson of Stevensville & Mary Beth (Jerry) Hagstrom of Edwardsburg, MI; and several nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert on September 7, 2007, and her brother Robert on April 3, 2011.
