Wayne Senecal

Wayne Senecal, 91, of St. Joseph, passed away, Saturday, April 04, 2015 at The Willows in St. Joseph.  Wayne was born May 8, 1923 in Muskegon to Wilfred & Hannah (Johnson) Senecal.  He served his country in the US Army Air Corp during WWII as a pilot, flying 37 missions over China.  In 1966, he married the former Gloria Jensen Fortenbacher.  Wayne was a former owner of Henry’s Hamburgers at the Fairplain Plaza, and was a real estate developer in the Twin Cities.  He was instrumental in developing many properties at the Plaza and in South St. Joseph Wayne is survived by his wife Gloria; his children-Mike (Sharon) Senecal of St. Joseph, JoAnn Vales of Grand Rapids, Thomas (Debbie) Senecal of Grand Rapids, Dan (Sue) Fortenbacher of St. Joseph, Jeff (Corinne) Fortenbacher of Spring Lake, MI, Kevin (Shelley) Senecal of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; seventeen grandchildren-Brittany Senecal, Jonathan (Tawnya) Johnson, Kristen Smith, Scott (Shawnna) Smith, Amy Chapman, Emily (AJ) Lopez, Amanda (Ryan) Borths, Andrew Fortenbacher, Rebecca (Joe) Sherry, Charles (Emily) Fortenbacher, Oliver Fortenbacher, Aaron (Erin) Fortenbacher, Austin & Taylor Fortenbacher, and Zachary, Hannah & Jacob Senecal; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his grandson Deacon Nelson, his brother Ralph Senecal, his sister Marva Shatney, & his son-in-law Richard Vales.     Memorials may be made to your local Alzheimer’s Association.
