Oskar Stubelt, 79, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Napier Parkview Baptist Church, 245 W. Napier Ave., Benton Harbor. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday, March 16 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Napier Parkview Baptist Church. Oskar was born February 23, 1936 in Solomka, Poland (now Ukraine) to parents Friedrich and Awine (Tiefenbach) Stubelt. He immigrated to the United States in 1956 from Germany. He received his Citizenship five years later. Oskar went to work for Imperial Printing and was Manager of Jiffy Printer for them. He opened his own printing business, Oskars Speed-O-Print in 1974. He was a Charter member of Napier Parkview Baptist Church and Kicker’s Sport Club. He was known for playing the accordion. Oskar loved working in his garden, his favorites being potatoes and tomatoes. He loved going to Lions Park to feed the Sea Gulls. He loved cooking for Napier Parkview Baptist Church Awana meals and cooking and serving meals for the Benton Harbor Soup Kitchen for many years.
Oskar will forever be remembered in the hearts of his wife Ella (Jarvis Dillon) Stubelt, sons, Edwin (Silvana) Stubelt, Matthew (Janet) Dillon; daughter Romy Trout; grandchildren Justin and Brook Stubelt, Ryan, Kayla, Sydney, Grace and Cooper Dillon; sister Lydia Stark of Germany; nephew Norbert (Jeanne) Stubelt; niece Reta (Brent) Stubelt. Oskar was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ewalt (Martha) Stubelt and Arnold Stubelt; sisters Natalie Kleinfetot and Alma Jeske.
