Christopher C. Cummings

Christopher C. Cummings, 51, of Berrien Springs, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at ­­­­2 P.M. Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2560 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Skip Mazzucco officiating. Friends may visit from 12:30 P.M. until the time of service.  Burial will take place at North Shore Memory Gardens. Chris was born January 18, 1964 in St. Joseph, to Alwyn M. and Ardis E. (Butgereit) Cummings. He was a member of the Benton Harbor High School marching band, as well as a 1982 graduate. Chris married Terry L. Reeves on May 20, 1988 in Berrien Springs. He was employed at Mac Engineering & Equipment Co. in Benton Harbor, as a machinist since October 1987. Chris was a loyal University of Michigan, Miami Dolphins, and NASCAR fan. He was a member and commander of the Sons of the American Legion Post 85. Chris was always willing to lend a helping hand to a friend. Chris is survived by his wife, Terry; children, Evan (Rachael) Cummings of Berrien Springs, Wesley (Sandra) Cummings of Jacksonville, NC, Paul Daniel of Sneads Ferry, NC; grandchildren, Preston Pries, Viktoria Cummings, and Isaac Cummings; siblings, Paula (Douglas) First and Geoffrey (Jennifer) Cummings both of Berrien Springs, and Dale Cummings of Benton Harbor; and special aunt, Lu. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bradley Cummings on December 10, 1968, and infant sister Patricia Cummings on March 22, 1962.
