Richard Dudas

Richard “Bud” Dudas, 89, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Royalton Manor in St. Joseph.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Elder James Thomas and Pastor Donald Green officiating. Memorials may be made to the Berrien County Cancer Service. Those wishing to share a memory of Bud online may do so at www.starks–menchinger.com  Richard was born February 28, 1926 in Sawyer, MI to William & Marie (Bouharer) Dudas. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School where he played basketball and was on the 1943 state championship football team. Bud owned IGA Grocery Stores in Sodus and Bridgman for over 25 years. Richard was a member of the Benton Harbor Elks and Past President of Blossomtime. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus. In his spare time he loved playing golf and was an avid Notre Dame Fan.  Richard is survived by his children Rick (Barbara) Dudas, Robyn Dudas, John Dudas and; five grandchildren Kyle, Patrik, Tessie, Myles and Drake; three great grandchildren Dylan, Alexys, and Taylor; brother William Dudas; sister Dorlene LaVanway. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and brother Joe Dudas.
