Billie Margaret Packard

Billie Margaret Packard (Muttie) 96, joined her husband, Jack Creighton Packard in heaven on March 4, 2015. She was residing at the Whitcomb in St. Joseph, MI.  Billie was born August 11, 1918 in Memphis, TN to Clara Maude Moore Thomas and Angus Lafayette Thomas. Billie Married Jack C. Packard in Glendale, CA on February 12, 1939. They not only were partners in life, but also owned and operated Packard Advertising in Glendale, CA. Billie enjoyed helping others and volunteered at the Ocala Hospital in Florida and Lakeland Hospital. She volunteered well into her 95th year. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Everything she cooked was delicious, but pies were her specialty. She passed down her joy of cooking to her daughter, son, and granddaughters. Billie loved living at Lake View Terrace where she could walk and enjoy the “city” life. She enjoyed keeping busy, knitting, crafting and socializing with friends and family.  Cremation has taken place as that was her wish. A celebration of her life will take place in California with her family.  Billie is survived by her daughter, Jackie (Rick) Seib of St. Joseph; a son Jerry R. Packard of Imperial Beach, CA; grandchildren, Martie (Jim) Haselton-Wills and Jodie (Tim) Niznik; step grandchildren, Janet and Debbie Seib; great grandchildren, Taylor, Jamie, Billie, Georgia and Lachlan  She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Starks & Menchinger Chapel of St. Joseph have been entrusted with arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice at Home.
