Edward William Ignatovich, 86, of St. Joseph, passed away, Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Hanson Hospice Center as a result of a stroke suffered earlier this year.
Celebration of Life Eternal Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church, 404 E. Glenlord Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Noah Headrick officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with Military Rites provided by the North Berrien Military Rites Team. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Ed was born April 14, 1928 in Benton Harbor to Christ & Alma (Mashke) Ignatovich. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School, Class of 1946. Ed served his country during the Korean War in the US Air Force stationed in Korea. On June 11, 1955 he married the former Anne L. Kebschull at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in St. Joseph. They were married nearly 48 years before her passing on May 30, 2003. Ed was employed as a wood pattern maker for several area pattern shops before retirement. He was a member of the former St. Peter’s Church in St. Joseph where he held several positions, a member and past president of the DANK, and a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Ed was a loving husband, father & grandfather who cherished the time spent with his family. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing & woodworking.
Ed is survived by his children-Janet (James) Luty of Waukesha, WI, Mark (Kerry) Ignatovich of Clarkston, MI, Jim (Cori) Ignatovich of Ceresco, MI; four grandchildren-Austin, Ben & Andy Ignatovich, Anne Luty; two brothers-Walter Ignatovich of Stevensville & Art Ignatovich of St. Joseph; his sister Ruth Bahm of St. Joseph; and numerous nieces & nephews. In addition to his wife Anne, he was preceded in death by his sister & brother-in-law Lillian & Bill Geike, sister-in-law Zula Ignatovich and brother-in-law Alvin Bahm.
