Harry Benjamin Rimes

Harry B. Rimes, 97, of Stevensville, MI passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at CrownPointe. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 16, 2015 at The Chapel,  4250 Washington Ave., St. Joseph with Pastor Tim Pietrogallo officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Harry was born November 16, 1917 in St. Joseph, MI to Harry & Harriet (Elgas) Rimes. He graduated from St. Joseph High School. On December 28, 1940 he married the love of his life Constance “Connie” Lyons in Benton Harbor. They were blessed with 74 wonderful years together. Harry worked at Rimes Auto Sales for 6 years and after he was the co-owner and operator of Comstock Hardware for 25 years. Harry and Connie were members of the Twin City Square group where they would spend much of their time square dancing. He also loved his family more than anything.  He was admired, respected and loved. Harry is survived by his wife Connie; son Robert (Phyllis) Rimes of Bridgman; son Thomas (Kathleen) Rimes of Stevensville; daughter Cheryl (Mark) Ziegert; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren with one on the way; four great-great grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.  Harry was preceded in death by his parents; son Donald and one great-great grandchild.
